Very slow starter
I picked this up in a pinch due unavailability of other bohemian lager strains for a czech pils. Did a split batch with this and a liquid strain, which started in less than 24hr. Despite using 2 packs for a lower OG, this yeast took over FIVE DAYS to show signs of fermentation. And because I was attempting a traditional open ferment, the lag contributed to the batch picking up a lacto infection and getting dumped. Conversely, the portion fermented with the liquid yeast performed perfectly. After a good deal of research, it sounds like nearly all Mangrove Jack offerings have a very long lag time. I'll be avoiding MJ in the future.

Very nice yeast
The first time I used this yeast my Bohemian Pilsner scored a 38 in a large contest with the beers faults having nothing to do with the yeast. I fermented at 50 degrees 10 days and did a rest before the secondary. They recommend pitching 2 packs for a 5 gallon batch but I only pitched 1 as I only did not notice you should use 2 until the day I was brewing and still had good results. This yeast Can product award winning results. I think it works better for me than 34/70.
